Although the terms have not been officially confirmed, a recent strategic document of the Ministry of Defense of Estonia stated that the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway and Belgium have already committed to deliver F-16s to Ukraine “by the end of the year (2023),” the report states.

  1. Maybe a squad of F16s really did shoot down those three SU34s that would be an incredible debut (most likely a Patriot ambush)

  2. Great news happy hunting men πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦

  3. I’m curious to know how much training the Ukrainian pilots have had.

  4. Maybe within the *last* week?

I did see one isolated report that a squadron of 12 f-16s plus three trainers and parts were already in the territory of Ukraine.

    Merry Christmas muzafukka.

Bada boom bada boom. Jagga jagga

  5. Let Kherson region be the first test for them πŸ’™πŸ’›

  6. Just a reminder that the F-16s are not the silver bullet which will kill the Russian werewolf. However, they will make it a bit more difficult for the Russians to use their airforce close to Ukrainian territory and to impact the frontline. Moreover, it’ll take a couple of months for Ukraine to build up the numbers and learn the system in combat environments for the F-16s to make a real difference.
Nevertheless, this is good news. Just don’t expect an immediate impact!

  7. Awesome present for Ukraine to find under her Xmas tree.

    Slava Ukraini.

  8. The Netherlands will send 18 f16 as soon as there are people to fly and maintain them as also if the support infrastructuur is there. If that is tomorrow they will fly out tomorrow. The planes are ready to go.

  9. F16s are going to be great. Big upgrade over the Mig 29s and SU25s they currently use.

I would love to see them get Gripens too though, just a small number, 16-20. That would let them use Meteor missiles with a max range of 200km, basically giving Ukraine air superiority at least over their own territory and near the front line, since even the SU34s and SU35s will not be safe anymore anywhere close to the front line. And since the russians don’t have standoff weapons for the SU34/35’s that effectively takes them out of the battle.

The Meteor missiles would also enable the Ukrainians to stay safely out of range of the S300 batteries.

Sweden currently has 24 Gripens in storage, waiting to be decommissioned. Maybe they’re about to change their minds about that?

  10. These bad boys may come with the Haarm pod, that means no radar could be safe anymore

  11. And for the Ukrainian pilots it will be a trial by fire. Hoping for their safety πŸ™ πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸ‘ŠπŸ‘ŠπŸ‘ŠπŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ‡·πŸ‡Ί

  12. What a beautiful Christmas gift πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸ’™πŸ’›. Are they Dutch πŸ‡³πŸ‡±?

  13. Last I read they were there months ago. Sad to see this news.
