Now arrest the man who vandalised it in the first place.
Oh wait.. he’s not working class? Carry on, officers.
EDIT: mad this is getting downvotes. Let’s not act like if Banksy was a regular joe he wouldn’t have been arrested by now.
The cynic in me says this was part of the art. The graffiti was done by a famous white artist from Bristol on an item owned by the council. It is purposely done in an area that has the highest black population in the UK before being publicly confirmed on Instagram.
A black man steals it and gets arrested for criminal damage whilst Banksy walks free.
Well, good.
It was a stupid thing to do for a multitude of reasons.
For whatever reason, Banksy seems unpopular on Reddit these days. But regardless of whether you love him or loathe him, people were genuinely enjoying it – it had only been up for an hour – the bloke had no respect for the public, and simply nicked it for (presumably) his own self gain.
Arrested for vandalising something that was vandalised?
The man’s wife initially refused to believe that he would do such a thing. But when she looked in his shed, all the signs were there.
I was *really* hoping that it was Banksy stealing his own artwork….
Is it possible to steal public art? Who commissioned it? Surely it’s just graffiti.
Reddit is a strange place
Banksy isn’t graffiti
Use common sense
Worth the fine for him if he managed to hide it somewhere
