Finnish MP and former intelligence officer Pekka Toveri said the same in a recent podcast interview on the war and it’s future. Unfortunately, western democracies move slowly but once they get going, we can outproduce Russia by a factor of 10. It sucks that it is so slow, we need to do what we can in the meantime to help Ukraine hold the line and minimize manpower losses until the full might of European industry can be mobilized behind them.
Ramp up will happen throughout 2024, so Ukraine needs to hold and stay strong, in 2025 the industry will finally be in high gear and in the meantime Russia’s reserves keep depleting and their economy worsening.
I mean he isnt wrong. The other evening there was a “confluence of events” and it scared me. I cursed the movie ” leaving the world behind” because i was seeing lines of similarity ( minus the deer and flamingos). But the bottom line is, europe should be seriously looking at scenarios, where America is unable to immediately come to its aid, should shit pop off
