It’s only important if they get him off the primary ballots so a competitor can get traction
Shout out to Colorado for leading the way in enforcing the 14th amendment so that other states could follow suit
No.
Let him lose fair and square.
Again.
Edit: Republican controlled states are already threatening to retaliate; a direct, frontal assault just feeds his persecuted, corrupt big government narrative.
IF he makes it to November his ass needs to be handed to him so badly there’s no question he lost.
🙏 that it works.
He’s gone ftom thinking about a running mate to thinking about running from an inmate.
Don’t get me wrong, the end result is worth it. But this is a bad move. The Colorado suit was brought by *Republicans*…and even that is being violently panned by the right. Democrats moving to remove Trump would just further put off independents who aren’t quite sure what to think.
You know that this guy is powered by negative actions right? You are only drawing more attention and support to him. Put forth a charismatic candidate that can defeat him in a landslide to defeat him forever. Going through the courts will just cause a constitutional crisis. The courts will avoid a crisis and this will all be a waste of time and resources that will only shield and protect him and empower him more. It’s so frustrating to watch the democrats fumble this ball.
If you must pursue this, stop talking about it all over the news. (1) it is getting boring and frustrating (2) it is free publicity.
its good to see TRUMP getting hard hits from all over Amercia
be careful what you wish for…with trump off the ballot, the repugs could put up a candidate who might actually win.
I think this is good. States need to do this in the way that is available to their state to force SCOTUS to clarify the 14th.
I love how people are acting like the rules shouldn’t apply to trump. He committed insurrection. He’s barred from running. The 14th is clear on this.
It is the correct Constitutional consequence according to the 14th amendment if you read it yourself instead of listening to ignorant magas parroting purposeful lies and misinformation to protect this skeevy anti-American insurrectionist and likely traitor (where are those additional missing topsecret files on russian election interference donnie?)
And most like any other republican candidate that does play the agenda that we are heading into.
Right on, I got an email to sign a petition in CA, they trying here too
Can we get some swing states to move on this. Pennsylvania, looking at you
Talk to me when it’s Wisconsin, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and/or Florida.
Will this happen in any swing states?
Trump isn’t going to win New York. What’s the point of enticing other states to follow, but on his side? As for justifications; they’ll find them.
I think these moves are best left to Republican voters. Biden can defeat Trump again if he has to.
Ready for the swing states to follow suit.
> Republicans noting all seven of that court’s judges were appointed by Democratic governors.
Surely disproportionate numbers of appointments from a certain political party wouldn’t affect the impartiality or legitimacy of a court… right?
Yes. Yes. Yes. As many states as possible.
How long until we start hearing conservatives calling to repeal the 14th?
At this point it’s meaningless unless SCOTUS refuses to hear the Colorado case. There is no case for including Trump on the ballot if SCOTUS rules against him. Personally I’d argue there is no case for including Trump on the ballot if SCOTUS refuses to hear the case. Yes it technically means they pass no judgement but for a case of importance like this SCOTUS might as well be giving Colorado their seal of approval by not taking the case.
It’s probably a better thing not to try anything until SCOTUS decides.
Good the fucking constitution supports these moves. Fuck the gQp
This is great news, but the fact that this wasn’t already raised within bloody days of January 6th happening, nearly THREE YEARS AGO is just an absolute disgrace, justice delayed is justice denied.
Trump’s closest allies don’t want anyone to know he absolutely stinks and wears soiled diapers when he’s doing something for a long period of time. Look at peoples faces when they stand near him. He can smell his shit literally and figuratively.
This move in New York is indicative of a national trend; there have been increasing attempts in recent months to bar Trump from seeking reelection in multiple states, largely as a result of the many scandals and accusations that have dogged him since he left office.
The more states the better. Make it popular for people to maintain some self-respect and just say no to Trump.
