  1. nice to see this place getting slowly raided by genzedong and tankie posters posting literal CCP propaganda, must mean we’re doing at least something right

  2. Its crazy how isolated and in a bubble this subreddit is. Honestly, its so out of step with the country its wild. If this sub was your only insight into Lithuania, you would think everyone is a center right or just outright right wing liberal conservative, ultra free market worshippers, and that people like Simonyte and landsbergis are popular and loved. Turns out, outside of this bizarre biased circlejerk, they are mostly hated, as is their foreign policy in particular. But the amount of anti-China propaganda and quite often racism that is on this sub daily is pretty telling of the motivations: old school right wing anti-Communism. Its a new boogey man. Its a new acceptable other to hate.

This sub is mostly foreigners, Americans and Canadians who are conservatives and think they have some imaginary connection to the country of their great grandparents. You don’t, not until you pay taxes and live here like us. Mixed in with those clowns its local middle class and fintech workers, obvious by the subs disdain of recognizing economic injustice, emigration, high prices and tax issues. And its rounded out by local teenagers, who tend to be reactionary edgelords who still on the daily use ableism as a primary insult technique. When 75% of the active users on the sub are these folks, it becomes an echo chamber of callous privilege and political devolution. They use dowmvotes to stifle any debate or free speech. Free speech really, really, really bothers them. Only china stans would have a different opinion and dare to share it. They need to be attacked!
