I find it hard to believe someone working with an unblemished record for 30 years would be so dumb as to shame their employer like that over a vending machine not being restocked. Having said that, after a long shift, you can say some dumb things in the moment.
Clever way for them to avoid maximum pension payout etc.
Probably be a water cooler installed by coincidence in the next few weeks.
I thought the employer was obliged to provide water and sanitation FOC.
The bigger issue for me is that he’s working a 24 hour shift. That would be unacceptable in any other type of work, so why do we expect it of people responsible for keeping us alive.
It’s a scandal, and we shouldn’t accept it any more. Health workers should work the same hours and shifts as the rest of us
I assume we’ll see them in the WRC any day now
They sound insufferable. Who posts to social media complaining about an unstocked vending machine. Drink some tap water like a normal person. This is hardly an example of horrendous working conditions
Vending machines don’t get stocked by management 🫣
Complete and utter bullshit or at least huge details being left out
Never trash your employer on social media. It’s like a cardinal sin.
Also.. tap water and refillable bottles are real things that exist.
We are ruled by some truly horrible people and am not just talking about the government. Nearly everyone in some sort of powerful position is just an absolutely narcissistic self centred horrible human being only concerned with themselves.
This is all a bit weird. Why is he talking about the NHS if he’s down in Kerry?
Breach of hospital policy nothing to see here. Stupid thing to lose your job for
Er I think he is supposed to report it to someone before going on social media like give them a chance to refill it.
I got downvoted on this sub for saying that working conditions are poor in the HSE. lol
Flagged by mods for misery
Sounds very very sus.
Its not that easy to be suspended in the hse and the hse provides water filters.
The blatant disrespect that healthcare workers are treated with is ridiculous.
They often have very long arduous shifts with high stress and a lot of responsibility and complicated decisions to make with limited time and resources
If we want a functioning healthcare system, we need to get the basics right and treat staff well
A well stocked vending machine is NOT to much to ask for.
Please someone fact check this, sounds like nonsense.
Oh we believe everything on twitter these days?
Didn’t get his union or solicitor involved? No first warning, verbal warning, written warning?
Just marched out like that?
The vending machine will be operated by an outside company not the hospital or the HSE and certainly not the NHS. Smells kinda bullshitty
Looks fake as fuck.
Why are they talking about the NHS.
Bull. Like most stuff on reddit
lol… it’s all about choice
I hope someone who lives nearby sees this and drops in some bottled water, chocolate and a few packets of biscuits, maybe a bottle of milk for the tea/coffee. I would if I lived nearby
Can anyone get this on a Newspaper? A consultant getting suspended over this sounds newsworthy to me.
I don’t believe a word of it. It’s next to impossible to fire someone in the HSE, you’d nearly have to murder someone, and then they’d be suspended on full pay pending an investigation. No one would be frogmarched off the premises for violating the social media policy. Hospital management aren’t responsible for the water machines, they’re companies from outside. Consultants don’t do 24 hr shifts, they’re on call from home and come in for an emergency. It all stinks tbh. Either he’s lying about the real reason they ousted him, or he’s a troll who isn’t even a doctor who can’t get the name of his supposed employer right.
