Der britische Verteidigungsminister warnt vor „schwerwiegenden Konsequenzen“, wenn Putin den Krieg in der Ukraine gewinnt

  1. “If we allow Putin to win this war by dragging it out, and he somehow wins it by exhausting everybody else, then we will suffer the consequences. And the consequences will be incredibly severe for Europe, for Britain, for the world,” Shapps said, as quoted by the media.

“The reason I say that is because we all know what happens when dictators march across Europe. We know what happens when others look at a weakness or what they perceive to be a weakness, and that could have implications in the Indo-Pacific or elsewhere,” he said. “So we cannot afford not to win this war.”

Hypothetical Scenario: Putin wins, gets Ukraine, moves all weapons (missiles included) on the borders of Moldova (which his generals already want to attack), Romania, Slovakia and Poland (NATO territory) and tensions will get higher.

  2. Russia has lost billions of soldiers, trillions of dollars, ukranian army besieges Khabarovsk and chinese peacekeepers are in Vladivostok.

How can Russia win this war? They have already lost it!

  3. All NATO has to do is continue funding Ukraine. Ukraine already won by stopping Putin’s invasion from taking Kiev. They have reclaimed 50% of initially taken territory. Just keep up what we are doing.

  4. So basically, Shapps stated the obvious. No discussion of a Ukrainian victory, just a Russian loss, and even then, he didn’t expand on what a Russian loss entails. Does it mean Russia leaves Ukraine with additional Ukrainian territory, or that they’re pushed back to pre-2022 or pre-2014 borders?

  5. I guess this means the UK defence budget will increase? Or they’ll at least stop the cuts to personnel?

  6. Invasion is a more appropriate term! And I hope it fails miserably, and pooptin is removed and detained indefinitely!

  7. The war at this point is a stalemate. Ukrainians need to draft more men into their military as they are outnumbered by the russians.

  8. Like the serious consequences when he took Crimea or Moldova or Georgia? I guess Ukraine is different…

  9. Severe consequences if Trump wins in 2024. Not only will Putin be further emboldened (if not outright supported by the GOP), but think of all the other authoritarians that will see their chance to make a move: Russia on other European countries, China on Taiwan, Turkey on whoever, etc. Conflicts will flare up across the globe, and worse.

  10. He has (as far as land and his goals) unfortunately already won most of it! Russia may be bleeding from this, but Ukraine is severely hemorrhaging from the war. As a US citizen, I’m personally fed up with just handing Ukraine billions, every fucking day we hear about another Ukrainian official embezzling or straight up stealing money. They have no men left, no ability to fight anymore. Zelenskyy refuses to go to the table for any kind of deal, which seems inevitable at this point. It’s sad, Putin needs to be held accountable for this, although I’m not sure how. Let’s stop the bloodshed and loss of hundreds of billions of $. Biden needs to broker a deal.

To say nothing of Israel’s shit show…

  11. The conflict is already lost by Ukraine. Unless “The powers that be” decide to escalate by entering the war.

Just accept the souls you have destroyed and the treasure you have plundered and hope the truth never comes to the light. Because I suspect a lot of people got richer with a country full of blood on their hands.

  12. The UK is like that annoying little brat bother in movies who wants to hang around with the big kids. Hint: nobody cares what a UK Defense minister says and haven’t for a half century. Britain, France and Germany eat at the little kids table and try and please he USA so they can get ice cream for dessert.

  13. Keep saying this because the mis-information bots are trying to pretend Putin isn’t a real problem

  14. it’s really obvious, but people aren’t paying attention

this isn’t some tiny decaying country. this is the largest country in europe. invaded by the largest country in the world. in 2022. hundreds of thousands injured and dead, and on the ukrainian side, more than half are civilian deaths from mariupul and other areas where russians just straight up committed genocide. and people still don’t seem to care. some of the dumber republicans are falling for russian propaganda and thinking this is some non-issue. their tone would change the moment russia invades a nato country next and they get drafted and sent to europe to fight russia

  15. Realistically, the Russians have nowhere else to go besides Baltics and Moldova, so they would be the only legitimate concern. Putin’s a bad guy, be he’s not stupid enough to suicide into an actual NATO member like Poland.
