Why? Because for Republicans cruelty is the point.
Great fucking party you’ve got there. Keep voting for these lying scumbags because you’re afraid of trans in your bathrooms and kids pissing in litterboxes. That is bullshit to sucker you into letting the Republicans do what they always do: desperately give the wealthy
more money and more power.
The cruelty is the point.
*Only gutting it for future generations
Democrats in office = gut everything, GOP in office = massive unfunded tax cuts and spend like a crack monkey
Not many want what they’re selling. A party void of any plans, any strategy and no goals other than “to stick it to the Lib’s”.
They have pensions. Screw the commoners.
It’s incredible how republicans are consistently on the wrong side of every single issue.
They wont cut it for Boomers. Just anyone under the age of “votes majority Republican”.
Remember that state of the union speech where they all lost their damn minds over this? Marjorie was screeching LIAR at the president.
Pro-Tip: It never left.
A Republican Perianal Favorite
This needs to be posted in every senior citizens home, nursing home, and Crackle Barrel restaurant in the country.
They’re doubling down against every last fetus they’re forcing into this world. The future needs wage slaves.
Guys, Republicans will not change their minds. And, yes, they are coming for Social Security and Medicare.
Cruelty is a feature, not a bug, of the Republican Party.
Food assistance for children? No.
Autonomy for women? No.
Safety nets for senior citizens? No.
This is the Republican Party. Believe them when they tell you who they are.
The headline makes it seem like they stopped or would ever stop trying to do this. From what I can tell the republican party members in congress will never stop trying to end programs that truly help people.
There’s some spicy footage of them all falling for Dark Brandons bait and committing to not doing exactly what they’re about to do
Surprise! The plan never actually went away of course. Gutting social programs is a core belief of conservatives and always has been.
Is it me, or is the GOP genuinely anti-American? What do they actually believe in that aligns with the constitution besides the second amendment?
The crazy thing is that we already paid for Social Security from our paychecks every check. They act like it’s an expense they are funding and will now be saving money on by cutting it off. No, it’s not. The GOP are *stealing* money you already paid in.
Fine. Give me all the money that you took from me aholes. Then you can gut it.
I’ll say it, again: I’ve paid plenty in to both. If they gut it, I want EVERY CENT back.
Can we put this on every billboard in Florida please?
To support these moves and call Democrats the “party of the rich” is pure, unadulterated, sheer hypocrisy. Of course, hypocrisy is a staple of far-righters who love to dish it but can’t take it!
Cool!
Where’s my check for what I and my employers have already paid in?
That’s where the conversation starts:
When do I get the money I paid in… paid in full, to each and every one of us.
That’s not a conversation these congressional welfare queens want to have but as far as I’m concerned… that’s where the negotiations start. Otherwise, leave it alone.
How about we cut funding for the bloated fucking military industrial complex and fix the fucking healthcare system. Fuck those people.
Member when during the state of the union speech the GOP got all butt hurt when Biden said the GOP would cut social security?
> The proposed budget would effectively make cuts to Social Security by increasing the retirement age for future retirees. The document seeks to assure people that there would only be “modest adjustments” but does not list what Republicans think the new retirement age should be.
Concerning…
> On Medicare, Republicans propose requiring disabled Americans to wait longer before getting benefits
Absolutely lethal. Disabled Americans have to wait two years from the SSA’s determined date of disability onset to get Medicare, during which time they can’t have substantial gainful employment or they are automatically denied benefits. And benefits are LOW. On SSI, under $1000 a month. On SSDI, payment is based on your earning history and averages around $1500 a month.
So if you don’t happen to have the money for two years of health insurance saved up, you’re going to be disabled without sufficient access to healthcare.
People already die during that period. Extending it is just a way to kill off more disabled people.
> and turning Medicare into a “premium support” system, a long-floated Republican idea that essentially turns the government program into a voucher scheme. Such a scheme would remove the guarantee for seniors to have affordable access to Medicare.
This is just a money-grab for insurance companies at the financial cost of taxpayers and the health cost of the sick and disabled.
