>Virgin Media O2 has announced it will not start charging Virgin Mobile or O2 customers extra for using their phones in Europe.
I know who I’ll be transferring to when my contract is up.
Assuming your phone supports it, another way could be to look at getting a data only SIM. Either ordered online before you go or at the destination airport.
I’ve no idea how much they would cost at the airport, but 30 seconds of Googling found one that gives you 7 days totalling 1GB for £3.70.
It’s not much data but better than nothing and way cheaper than what Vodafone would like to charge. I’m sure that a longer search could get a better deal.
Switched my EE contract a few weeks before the cutoff last summer so hopefully I’ll be ok for a few years.
