Badly designed scheme in material contravention of the Development Plan. Correct decision
So fucked up.
South County Dublin comes up with its own development plan and then An Bord Pleanala jumps over them with its own planning process for large developments.
Like trying to play Sim City but there’s two independent players in the same game.
An Bord Pleanala is clearly under pressure to ok these developments within a certain timeframe without much care or attention. So now the courts are quashing all these fast tracked developments because of course they don’t make sense.
At least the Strategic Housing Development system is coming to an end next month. Let’s see if what replaces it can manage to function.
Houses need to be built but throwing up any old shite is not the answer. During the Celtic tiger they were throwing housing estate after housing estate up along what were essentially back roads and putting no infrastructure in and there would be insane traffic at all hours. Was there not an estate built out that way recently without a proper sewage system? Why is nothing ever organised properly. There always seem to be corners cut.
Pathetic.
& very disappointing to see the majority of this sub in favour of this refusal. God forbid a bit more traffic while people get homes.

Won’t someone think of the otters?
