I feel this is an example of how poorly trained and motivated some of the Russian tank crews now are.
They should have stayed in and returned to base at the very least.
Obviously fear took over.
Just a little word play lost in translation. In the video we see T-90M “Proryv”, which translates as “Breakthrough”, an official name of this model. Caption inside the video says “T-90M Proval”, which means in both Ukrainian and Russian languages as “failure”. Which is a word play, because in Ukrainian these two words sound somewhat similar.
Doesn’t even look like it took any damage. I mean, I could be wrong.
Looks like it’s pretty much the best case scenario for the tank too. Middle of the turret and at a horizontal angle. The sort of thing a modern MBT should shrug off. Wonder if they’re cutting corners with the turret armour at the factory…
I can’t help but whistle YAKETY SAX when the film speed goes up.
how can a fpv drone with a i assume rpg warhead penetrate the upper plate of a t90m? The tank is smoking after they bailed, so it seems to have penetrated.
I still remember when the first footage of a T90s being hit by a TOW in Syria appear, a lot of pro-Russian were talking shit about the Syrian commander for immediately abandoning the tank even though it was only hit once.
I wonder what those people will say about this.
What the actual fuck man?
Drone didn’t even hit the hatch or inside or did any substantial damage. These guys are just looking for an excuse to abandon ~~ship~~ tank lol .
The T-90 M costs almost 4.5 million $ , I’m sure the guys who abandoned it know well , I’m absolutely baffled how a 300$ FPV drone stops it’s advance.
Was the driver rumbling along with his hatch open? I mean he’s obviously injured in the attack as he runs into a field, drops down and doesn’t get up again.
The rest of the crew are obviously panicking about mines as they literally walk back along the tank tracks to avoid stepping on anything.
What do people think is going on here? Was that a very well placed strike that has managed to cripple the tank? Or are they running as they are scared they are being targeted by a javelin or something that can Kill the tank and them? Or is it poor training and morale and they are just not sticking around to find out?
It’s crazy to think that almost a decade ago the US was spending BILLIONS of dollars using smart bombs on a terrorist in a $20 tent and now we watch $500-$1000 dollar over the counter drones obsoletely wreck modern day front lines.
