  1. > The heckling reportedly began after Rangathan made a joke about racism in football.

There’s a rather useful American phrase for this – *”A hit dog will holler”*.

  2. More detail elsewhere but I can’t say it really clears anything up for me:

    >The Sun states that the abuse started when Romesh cracked a joke about racism in football, quipping: ‘I’d rather be a P**i than a Scouse’, which is said to have caused a male audience member to start chanting: ‘Millwall!’

    >Responding to the man, Romesh is said to have remarked: ‘Why are you letting everyone know you are a racist?’, which is then reported to have spurned the woman to start ‘yelling racist abuse’ while ‘pointing’ at the star.

    >The source added that the man had yelled the racial slur : ‘Hip-Hop coconut’ and told how it was ‘awful blatant racism’ before commending Romesh on the way he handled things.

I’m not into football so maybe someone can help; how is it racist that the guy shouted “Millwall”? And wtf is a “hip hop coconut”?

  3. Why would she even book tickets to the show if she’s prejudiced toward the performer?

A particularly poor purchasing decision, there.

  4. Imagine spunking 20 odd quid to yell racist drivel for an hour and a half. Thats called being a Millwall fan

  5. Why do Millwall fans go to comedy shows? They just end up getting chucked out. Twice I’ve seen it happen up in the fringe.

  6. I take these hecklers with a pinch of salt. Half the time it’s staged so that it goes viral for free advertisement.

  7. Not shocked tbh…maybe some of the audience can go pull down a statue or something to think that they are part of the solution.
