Regardless of the field one works in, I believe that
1) vaccines work but I also very strongly believe
2) injecting something into your body should be a choice (and not a false choice of “do this or get sacked”)

We all got jabs when we were kids, how is this different.
Sacking health care workers in a pandemic causes problems? Who knew…
There are a lot of very good reasons anyone may choose not to have a medical treatment, and that should be respected, especially since many of these people have more first-hand experience of covid than anyone else.
> Hospital ‘could lose up to 1,000 workers as jabs made mandatory for NHS staff’
People were saying the same thing about New York police, and it was just 34 imbeciles in the end who quit rather than getting vaccinated.
There are perfectly valid reasons why it may not be necessary to be jabbed, as described by this Doc.
Reduce staff numbers in the NHS significantly and there will be months of protest on the streets.
Reduce staff numbers because of vaccine hesitancy and those people will go online to applaud you vehemently.
My partner works on a hospital ward. There are a number of young nurses on the ward refusing the vaccine stating they would never get vaccinated and would rather lose their jobs. Three of them are now leaving the NHS to work as nurses in Dubai…
…except their new jobs require vaccination and, weirdly, they are now more than happy to get vaccinated.
I guess a large proportion of those refusing a vaccine will be ancillary staff like porters, caterers etc. Doubt very much that we will lose many actual medics.
The government are obviously going to have to back down on this, but they’ll probably do it at the last possible minute to coerce as many people as possible, scumbags
I read the US sites when push came to shove most of these vocal I’d lose my job people got vaxxed.
This is a dream come true for those trying for privatisation. It says alot about the vaccine if those on the front line who won’t even take it
I don’t believe anyone should be forced to have the jab. I’m double jabbed and I don’t think I’ll get the booster. I’m quickly losing faith in our government. I’m sick of the do as we say and not as we do. No unnecessary travel but we can, no Christmas parties but we can. Remember the shortages of PPE, there wasn’t a shortage, there was a shortage of MPs not in position to make money from it. Then we had Friends of MPs getting huge contracts for something they know nothing about. They’re all crooks. Next theyll tell everyone to get jabbed but they won’t. Constant lies lies lies. Why do we trust these people. During the height of the pandemic they manipulated the figures to scare us. All this died “with” covid crap. Died “with” covid is alot different to died “of” covid. They tell us what we need to hear so they can get us to do as they say. I want some honesty for once, if they’re saying died WITH covid because they had a positive test within 28 days of their death, then I want them to do it the other way. So anyone that has died 28 days after having the vaccine is recorded as died WITH vaccine. Why are they not reporting it that way. Although people are having issues with the vaccine have you noticed how it’s never reported about on the news. They tell us what they want, to get us to do what they want. It’s not about looking after us, it’s about controlling us and I’m getting sick of it.

So…don’t make it mandatory for them?
Problem solved.
Losing employees that don’t believe in medicine is surely a net gain for the NHS.
While I believe in the vaccine, a mandatory jab would be a terrible idea. We’re already dealing with shortages in medicine, why create more?
Any headline with the word ‘could’ in it needs to be read as having ‘but almost certainly won’t’ on the end.
People who cannot have it for medical reasons would be exempt from this.
Anyone who is NHS staff who refuses to have the vaccine for some nonsense reason they read online is no loss whatsoever to the NHS.
Meanwhile, having low pay, below inflation pay rises for years, and dangerously low staffing levels certainly won’t make staff leave.
Was it NYC police force where thousands of employees refused, “on principle” and then only 4 actually really refused and were sacked?
Edit: it was 10s of 1000s and 34 ultimately actually refused.

I don’t think the argument against compulsory vaccines in the NHS could be made better than by the [Kings College doc that took the hobgoblin health secretary to task](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ba4Pt25K-N4&ab_channel=ReallyRoxanne) over the idea last week.
