I did a weekend in Edinburgh just before COVID. Its really nice will definitely go back sometime but I wouldn’t live there.
Ah, Edinburgh. Scotland’s favourite English city.
Not really shocking. People in capital city move to other English speaking capital city.
Especially if they think there could be a chance for them to rejoin the EU through Scottish Independence. What sensible ambitious young person wouldn’t?
The Brighton of Scotland or so I am told.
oh man – that thread on r/Edinburgh is tough to read, they really hate the idea of Londoners/the English moving there. This is one thing I like about London, either no one is unwanted, or everyone is – it’s not like we single out people from the Midlands as uniquely shit in the same way the Scots seem to hate the English.
Theres some pretty dissonant stuff in the thread as well: “The government over-invested in London for the last 30 years” alongside complaints about people moving there and spreading some of that economic benefit.
