When I see these, I always think about how much waste war causes. The resources poured into these boys for two decades, only to die as soon as they become men, for some officer’s foolhardy attack in a pointless war. The clothes, optics, food, ammunition, weaponry, medical gear, footwear, etc. The men themselves. All of it now full of holes and rotting in the ground.
