  3. Snyder seems like a great guy, but he is the type that needs to be heavily reeled in, and he also shouldn’t be allowed to write anything he’s doing. His cinematography has completely gone to hell since he has taken over, I have no idea what his obsession with shallow dof and soft focus is, everything he’s done lately looks like he smeared the lens with Vaseline.

  4. Flawed as it is I really love Man of Steel. It kinda stands on it own amongst every superhero movie, nothing quite like it.

  5. Stylistically sure. That’s fair. But he generally misunderstands the substance to focus on the style. Nolan appreciates a balance between the two.

  13. He’s got it 100% backwards. Easy mistake to make, since Snyder is a trope regurgitation machine, but in this case, the egg came first, in the form of directors with original ideas.

    This is like saying “I see the Strokes’ influence all over Iggy Pop and Lou Reed’s music.”

  17. Could be true, idk. Snyder doesn’t suck at everything, he has a great visual style. He just sucks ass at being in control of an entire project, he should hire people to do his scripts and screen plays

  26. Sadly Nolan is right in this regard. Whats worse is Snyder can’t even do Snyder right. Rebel Moon was definition of meh, the color correction was way to much and his use of slow mo was constantly poorly applied with it starting too early, ending early or going to long and just not doing that cool single image or clarity thing that it’s supposed to do. He used it well on Watchmen, did it great for that one Flash/Superman scene but not so much after that.

  29. Watchmen is one of the most disappointingly terrible movies I’ve seen relative to the source material. Still can’t forgive him for that.

  30. Hot take. nolan loves time pass popcorn movies : he loves Snyder movies, he loves Michael Bay, his favorite movie of all time is McGruber. The man sees movie as his escape for him because he focuses so much on making movies that makes you think, he sees his favorite movies as a release valve

    But I’m kinder than others. I think Man of Steel was pretty great.

  37. Zack snyder and Chris Nolan would have saved DCEU if they were allowed to work without interference by Warner Bros..Still feel Man of steel set things up nicely and Man of steel 2 should have come before Batman Vs superman

  43. Just watched his silly Rebel Moon. Nice guy, some good design elements, but horrific writing, VFX, and directing. I like Dennis Vellinuve more. even though i probably spelled his name wrong.
