I am really glad when he said “our enemy is not far behind us”.
Reading reddit and the “we are lucky they are so fucking stupid” is just internet speech and not the front line reality.
Ukraine probably worked hard to achieve the successes of the last week; they were not just given to them by a stupid and dumb enemy.
Yes, Russia sends an enormous and shocking amount of people to their certain deaths. But we need to realize that they just don’t care about it. That’s not stupid to them, that’s just getting rid of ethnic minorities for them.
The whole defence is a success story. Ukraine has beaten Russia in the north and in the (North)East. They also took back Kherson.
By now unfortunately it has gotten harder and harder to achieve territorial gains. But five downed enemy planes within a week after months of barely any air kills gives me hope that the Ukraine can gain the much needed parity or even advantage in the air for ground operations to become more successful again.
Slava Ukraini.
Zaluzhnyi had a soft, kind voice, but the heart of a lion, and the mind of Sun Tzu.
An Excellent man in charge…
I absolutely love this man. Knows his strengths, knows his weaknesses, and spells it out in a calm, direct way.
Common Zaluz, give us some surprise attacks for 2024, bring the Kerch bridge down permanently.
Cut a path into Crimea, its the fastest way to end this war.
This is what democracy looks like. The commander of the armed forces standing up, in a regular soldier uniform and answering the press. Compare this to ruzzia.
Hopefully, Ukrainian high command has been learning the lessons of the failed ground offensive and what needs to change to force out the entrenched Russians.
They need to be bold and decisive. They need better methods to clear Russian defences and force them back into a war of movement on Ukrainian terms.
The success at sea must be replicated on the land.
i want to appreciate Francis Farell’s Ukrainian. dude’s talking very good.
regarding Zaluzhnyi’s answer, quite confident, with vision of plan. i like that he said that lessons have been learned, because the initial phase of the counter attack wasn’t very good, but the improvement really came within days, a week tops. they had to change plans operatively, yet still managed to advance on various directions. winter should give them more time to change tactics and prepare.
what i like the most is his public appreciation to the new minister of defence. there were talks about bad relationship between Zaluzhnyi and Zelenskyi. appreciation of Umerov, being Zelenskyi’s right hand when it comes to military, is a good signal to the soldiers, UA and allies.
