11. I think the absolute immunity defense is going to be dead on arrival. There is no logical way a president can be immune from any and all action taken while president. It is simply an unworkable doctrine and absolutely against the anti-monarch stance of the founders. It also makes the SCOTUS nearly powerless (and the legislature).

    Impeachment is only a limited, political remedy and wholly incapable of limiting a corrupt president. And if you’re immune from criminal prosecution without an impeachment, a corrupt and lawless executive can do a lot to ensure an impeachment never happens (e.g., bribery, assassinations, blackmail).
