  1. Are there more statistics about ~~un~~employment rates you can trust?
For exmaple here in austria, the way how ‘unemployment’ is counted has been changed in past years & I do not think its counted in same way for each country. So it would be interessting to see how employed counted would look like.

  2. Sweden ? Really ? I though the country was running well…

    Migrants?

  3. I don’t understand what happened to Southern Europe? Was it always like that? When I was kid we were being taught that Italy is the 4th biggest and strongest economy in Europe. Now all I told is unemployment and immigratiom about Italy from my Italian friends..

  4. Literally every pizza, Amazon or DHL driver here in Germany is basically a refugee. They dried up the low income job and real estate sector and right wing still convince people that things are going worse for youth.

  5. Lithuania MENTIONED 🇱🇹🇱🇹🇱🇹🇱🇹🇱🇹🇱🇹🇱🇹🇱🇹🇱🇹🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺

  6. Good day to be a young Spaniard 🔥🔥🇪🇸🇪🇸

  7. Of course this is not a univariable regression model. There are tons of reasons that might explain what’s going on here. Moreover, those who incriminate migrants taking jobs don’t use to see one of the roots of this is not “new stealer workers from outside”, but greedy employers who lower wages that some people are now “willing” (in need) to take. Bare in mind your own connationals employers are at the top of the problem.

Might worth asking if these young people want or do not want to work, prefer studying, traveling, maybe labour conditions do not meet their expectations, or wages simply aren’t enough to get independence, etc.

  8. Germany needs well educated citizens. Unfortunately, many of the thousands of migrants and even more of our own citizens don’t understand the concept and value of learning or the challenges of living in a complicated society such as Germany. The companies take every apprentice with a mediocre exam. But too often, they give up teaching them basics which everyone used to know in former times.

  9. I don’t know about the other southern countries, but undeclared work plays a big part in the Italian colour. That’s not to say that we have no problem though

  10. I find unemployment rates a lot less relevant now than they used to be, at least from a UK perspective. The rise in zero-hour contracts, temp contracts and other forms of unstable employment is at record highs, but it all counts as employment.

A more interesting statistic that I’m sure isn’t currently being recorded is how many people are actively looking for a job, even those currently in employment.

  11. It’s worth mentioning that this is only partially related to the German system of mandating companies to offer trade school slots. Beyond the obvious issue of there simply not being enough young people, 60% of all youths go to university and many of those without a job are shunted into pointless “additional education” or forced to do pointless menial jobs so they won’t appear in the statistics.

  12. You wanna see seriously low youth unemployment rates, have a look at the Chinese numbers.
