In English, work days usually mean Monday to Friday, excluding holidays, but in German, each translation has a different meaning.
This is important, because most parking spaces are restricted by “Werktage”, and those restrictions also apply on Saturdays. I’m glad I Googled it before parking there!
EDIT: But in the case of apartment leases, Werktage are legally defined as Monday to Friday.

Most Germans don’t know the difference until they park there on a Saturday either, if it’s any consolation.
Arbeitstage can be any days you have to work. I often work on Sundays or holidays, and these are “my” Arbeitstage. Thus, the term is meaningless for rules or laws that affect everyone.
I had no idea about this one. Good info, thanks.
I’m German and still always confused whenever a place mentions Werktage tbh. Never knew there was a difference to Arbeitstage. Thanks for the info!
