Their influence spanned generations. I remember watching him on Carson. RIP
Absolute legends! Told my wife and she just pulled up Tom’s Yo-Yo Man video and said it was one of her favorites. Never knew she was a Smothers fan and she’s far too young to have seen growing up, so another testament to how wide the reach of their good natured silly humor had. Rest in peace Tom! Thanks for bringing joy and laughs to so many. Your work will outlive us all ❤️
According to his brother and co-star Dick Smothers:
“Tom was not only the loving older brother that everyone would want in their life, he was a one-of-a-kind creative partner. I am forever grateful to have spent a lifetime together with him, on and off stage, for over 60 years. Our relationship was like a good marriage – the longer we were together, the more we loved and respected one another. We were truly blessed.”
What a beautiful statement. Made me tear up.
From falling into a vat of chocolate?
I’m sorry to hear about Tom Smothers’ passing. He was a comedic legend whose wit and charm brought joy to many. From “The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour” to his contributions in entertainment, his impact will be remembered fondly. May he rest in peace, leaving behind a legacy of laughter that will continue to resonate with generations.
His old man was an anthropologist. What do you think about that.
He’ll be missed. Fun fact, one of them was a world class yo-yo master. Forget which one.
They were special and Tommy will be missed.
There’s a puma in the crevice!
Tommy was one genuinely funny guy, and immensely talented.
He was immortalized in a Vine. He will be forever in our minds
