  1. Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., is telling Democratic strategist James Carville to “shut the f— up” about President Joe Biden and the 2024 presidential race.

In an interview with Politico on a number of issues, Fetterman discussed 2024 and said Biden has his full backing. He also knocked those too focused on the president’s low polling and age.

Fetterman argued current polls don’t matter as there’s a “lifetime” between now and the election.

“I’m not worried about that. And I’m very vocal about this, too, while there are Democrats that are being very critical about the president. … I’ll use this [as] another opportunity to tell James Carville to shut the f— up. Like I said, my man hasn’t been relevant since grunge was a thing,” Fetterman said.

Carville, a former advisor for Bill Clinton, has been sounding the alarm about Biden’s campaign for some time.

In an October interview with The Atlantic, the political consultant claimed Democrats were telling him to keep quiet about his concerns. He’d previously told Democrats to “wake the f—” up in a Bill Maher interview, arguing Trump would win the election if it were held this year.

  2. Fetterman is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with in Washington.

  3. I will never forgive fetterman for supporting Israeli’s genocidal actions

  4. Carville is such an old fossil when it comes to politics, it’s insane they still let him out there to give his “opinion”. Guy has been a proven loser outside of a once in a generation charismatic candidate in Clinton and he’s made a career out of it.

  5. I agree that Carville is not being helpful.

Joe Biden has serious problems going in to this election but I think that case is for Republicans to make, not Democratic strategists.

  6. Meh… Carville is yesterday’s political advisor turned today’s political commentator. His motivations have changed from electing as many Democrats as he can to throwing as much shade as he can to justify more paid TV appearances.

His *alarms* should be listened to, but taken with a grain of salt.

  7. The more i hear from fetterman, the bigger an idiot he seems like. this pro genocidal piece of shit is gonna be mad when people don’t come out to vote for biden, because you know, people are generally against genocide.

  8. LMAO you’ve lost the argument when all you have to say is STFU. Stop playing partisan politics. Biden’s re-election concerns are valid.

  9. Carville hasn’t really had a clue about American politics for at least a decade. Like everyone else, he wrongly predicted a landslide win for Clinton in 2016. Then he spent most of 2020 bemoaning the Democrats’ chances, then predicted Trump would drop out of the race, and finally settled on predicting a landslide victory for Biden that would be known by 10 PM on election night.

The guy confidently gets pretty much everything wrong at this point. Everyone should just ignore him.

  10. We need more Fetterman’s in government and less spineless twats

  11. Carville is team Clinton. It is unsurprising that we should be hearing his name more at the same time Hillary is trying to re-assert herself into the political media cycle.

Fetterman, well, we know a lot more about his opinions and political posture now that he is in office. I’m not surprised he is backing the status quo.

This is all centrist infighting for power.

There is a backwards mirror of this in the GOP presently.

All while death is dogging everywhere.

  12. Carville is a rich idiot blowhard who should crawl back into his crypt and stay there, he hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years.

  13. Carville backed Conor Lamb against Fetterman, because “Fetterman could NEVER win in Pennsylvania!”

Carville is a Clintonian Neolib who has not been relevant since the 90’s.

Fetterman has every right to clown on Carville. He proved him wrong.

  14. Carville is married to a Republican strategist. Im sure he really cares about democrats or progressive policy. Hes just trying to stay relevant and make money.

  15. Go John. Carville is turning into a caricature of himself, and is desperate to stay relevant by being outrageous. ( see how that turned out for Rudy Colludy). He had been wrong about so much in the past 10 years, and quite frankly sounds like he is getting forgetful and tends to be repetitive. So, have a seat, James.

  16. Look… Whether you agree or disagree with Fetterman’s stance on the Israel / Gaza conflict or his opinions on the viability of a Joe Biden candidacy in 2024, can we just all agree that telling James Carville to shut the fuck up is objectively a good thing?

  17. Within the given parameters, the math is simple

    Biden>Trump

I will vote against Trump, as long as Trump runs. I will vote for the alternative Everytime

Until first past the fencepost is altered, that’s my equation. We are presented two options. It’s not a hard choice for me.

  18. Biden is a great President with decades of experience. He has the incumbent advantage and a great record to run on. The economy is improving and gas prices are falling. In my opinion, he has the best cabinet in decades. I think Biden has a good chance of beating Trump. He already did it once and he can do it again.

  19. Bald Sinema has a think.

He’s too busy screeching about US Steel and the Nippon purchase plan and pretending its going to make it go away to win brownie points with his constituents.

  20. Biden has so much to stand on from his first term, the challenge is conveying that sense of recovery and growth when it contrasts so sharply with his age and physical presence. And before my fellow democrats attack me, it’s true. He does look old and he does look frail. If we want to win in ‘24 we need to be honest with ourselves and strategize accordingly.

  21. Fetterman was intriguing when he first came on the scene, but since then he’s turned out to be aggressively mediocre and only a little more interesting than watching paint dry.

  22. “My man hasn’t been relevant since grunge was a thing” – guy bringing grunge back

  23. Carville has needed to be told to shut the fuck up for many years now. Guy’s been phoning it in since the 90s.

  24. What’s completely fucked to me is that people seem to be equating Biden being old to Trump being a traitor, or other Republican candidates being racist, misogynistic, bigots.

Joe Biden is *experienced* and has demonstrated that his age doesn’t hinder his ability to lead at all. To put forward these people who legitimately believe terrible things (Vivek), or are transparently, opportunistically saying terrible things just to get power (Haley), and somehow cite Biden’s age as disqualifying is ridiculous.

  25. I once had high hopes for Fetterman. Now he’s basically a laughing stock.

  26. Generic ballot matters more then presidential polls

  27. Remove Fetterman for a second. All these concerns voters have should be addressed. Because if Dems drop the ball AGAIN by ignoring voters, Trump will be president and Hillary will still be confused on why she lost to a clown/Biden confused on why running on not being Trump didn’t work twice

  28. Carville is a last century cartoon, and Fetterman is a faux blue collar knuckle dragger, they deserve each other.

  29. Biden is too old but he’s our guy for 2024. So people seriously need to just STOP about alternatives.

The party as a whole is to blame that we went an entire generation between Obama and 2028 with ZERO democrats under 50 becoming a person of influence. None. You have this amazing young charismatic president in Obama and the response was….Hillary…..then Biden.

Get excited for 2028 where Newsome, Whitmer and Shapiro fight it out. But next year is Biden and preserving our democracy

  30. Why are people complaining about Biden for age and not his policy? The man could be a 1000 years old but if he maintains his track record, who cares?

Biden has been killing it despite being acting president during the most divided the senate/house and American people have been since the civil war.

Why are we crying about age if he has done all that DESPITE his current age? It seems he picks rather competent people to be around him, worst case he does develop some issue, we will be left in good hands.

  31. considering Biden’s accomplishments in 4 years, if he loses in 2024, then the problem is with the voters.

  32. Yeah how dare he question the almighty Biden. The oldest president with historically low approval and one that no one wants to run is of no concern.

  33. To be fair, Carville is overrated as shit. They think he’s a Kingmaker for getting Bill Clinton elected but more often than not he’s just awful on what makes someone electable.

  34. sorry but these concerns are legitimate and need to be solved. This attitude of not talking about problems with the President is something they do in Russia

  35. Seriously, Shut the fuck up about anything negative about Biden. Stop desperately grasping for defeat from the jaws of victory.
