ELI5 why do they always loose signal right before explosion. i thought tanks have some kind of jamming signal stuff, but in this case it is just soldiers so no jamming so why is that?

I’m genuinely curious if we Gona see people running away from drones with Kevlar ankle length skirts? Surely that would stop a vast majority of shrapnel as long as it wasn’t on your head?
