This might have worked in early 2015, but by now the horse is out of the barn, broke its leg, died and decomposed.
There is zero chance that Washington can go back on years of rhetorical support for current Ukraine’s course, even if they wanted to. Events are moving on rails, deterministically to an inevitable conclusion.
