North Korea: Kim Jong Un wants to ‘further accelerate the war preparations’ | DW News

That mean in Practical terms well as far as we know so far it’s not exactly clear what North Korea is explicitly meaning with this new statement of course we had what you just mentioned there that North Korea wants to accelerate the country Munitions military and nuclear weapons capabilities accelerate kind of efforts

On all of these fronts um but it you know we have to look really to the recent context of what North Korea has been doing with its other other military capacities and capabilities to really get a sense of what we might be looking at ahead in the coming year of course we

Recently in just the last month or so have had an intercontinental ballistic missile launch the Hong 18 missile which Japanese officials of course said was able to hit anywhere on US territory and of course we also had earlier this month uh the launch of the spy satellite which

North Korea claims to have put in orbit and is uh claims that is able to take pictures of both the Pentagon and the white house so we can really expect North Korea to be kind of trying to develop ties uh develop capabilities sorry in that vein and then also another

Really important point to make here with this latest readout from Kim jong-in is that he’s saying that he wants to develop ties and expand collaboration with countries that he describes as Anti-Imperialist again not really much specifics on exactly what he means there but from the recent context we can infer

That he’s likely meaning expanding ties with Russia and China Russia of course this Ally that pongyang has been developing ties with over the past couple of months um it’s understood according to us intelligence that pongyang has been providing Moscow uh with uh ammunition for its ongoing invasion of Ukraine and so that’s really
