“Parcel was left in letterbox”. On bin day too. Cheers Amazon!

  1. I had Royal Mail leave a parcel in a full waste food bin the other day (everything was bagged up, but still…).

Delivery drivers really don’t give a shit since covid. There’s just a “chuck it there that will do” attitude to them all.

  2. I recently had a refund from Amazon, they claimed to have handed it to the resident, they didn’t and the parcel was nowhere to be found.

  3. Had an Xmas present left on the drive by the road, Amazon said it had been handed to resident, but they didn’t even come to the door. If I hadn’t been home when the email confirmation came it would have most likely been stolen.

Solidified in my mind why Amazon shouldn’t be used for anything.

  4. Now I’m unsure if I’m doing it wrong.

I take the address labels off my delivery boxes (and everything else) before bin collection.

In my small town, I’m not so bothered about identity theft, but more the people that sort the recycling rubbish out working out my address if I put something in the wrong bin.

I’m not even sure if they do sort it out, but that’s what the council likes to tell us. They have people employed to sort through our mixed recycling bags before further processing.

  5. One week our usual postman was off and his cover left a box of 8 records in my garden waste bin on top of a rotting pumpkin.

Amazon usually just throw our parcels over the fence and hope for the best.

  6. Anything like this I just say I never got it, and get them to send me another one out

  7. It’s from Amazon don’t they only sell overpriced rubbish now

  8. I’ve given up with Amazon. They keep scanning items as delivered but they’re not getting here and Amazon think I’m just scamming them now.

The only one they didn’t argue was my doorbell footage of the driver pretending to throw a parcel over the gate then walking back to the van with it in his hands.
