Did Russia fix its corruption problem all of a sudden?
The article says that a $400bn development plan has been tossed aside to fund the war. It seems to imply that this spending will not happen because that money will have already been spent. It doesn’t say anything about how much Russia is extracting from occupied territories now or territories it will occupy if Ukraine loses the war. Russia will still fund that development plan, or at least try to, on the backs of Ukrainians.
Good article, Putin is now likely to win in Ukraine and claim his win over the ‘West/Nato’ but whilst his popularity will skyrocket over this on the home front, the after effects of this war are not going to be good for the Russian economy or people.
