I guess he was less than _enamoured_ by their kitchens.
Wren are just as bad, folks spent half as much with neither of them knowing what they were buying really. Sales folk who should know better just rinsing the uninformed for commission. Awful kitchen, it’ll need to be ripped out if they ever sell.
He’s raising profile to his complaint, Wickes should be resolving earlier now it looks bad on them.
I’d love to ride in the tank p.s.
Oh sweet, I need to go to Wickes if they have a tank outside now!
Shame its the Basingstoke one, thats the other side of the county.
Wickes is shit, why you’d buy a 25k kitchen from them is beyond me.
My in laws got a kitchen from them, nothing special or fancy. There were all sorts of problems with available colours, materials and whatnot and it cost a lot. The quality is pretty bad to be honest and my in laws are not happy.
If anyone wants to get a good quality kitchen these days, where does one go?
Without seeing the kitchen etc there is no possible way to know who is truly in the wrong here but after 15 years in retail my gut is telling me this guy is the douch here, reminds me of the time during lockdown where my store became click and collect only but the whole system crashed because of the high order volume, we told people there was no possible way for us to pick and process their order until the system comes online, this one bellend refuses to accept that and starts taking photos of the store and shoving his phone in peoples faces so he can get proof for when he goes to the police, he called 999 and the police told him to do one, retail has taught me that usually the ones making the biggest fuss are the ones in the wrong but refuse to accept it, i could be wrong in this instance but my gut says i’m not
“Wickes” & “quality” aren’t 2 words that go together
Biggest mistake was shopping at Wickes in the first place.
Find a local firm who specializes in re-fitting kitchens going to a commerical giant is the biggest mistake you can do. I’ve spoken to quite a few plumbers in my time who worked for wickes as their installation team and it was one of the worst things, they take 0 responsibility.
Looking to do our kitchen next year 😅
Will rule Wickes out!
What’s the consensus on Magnet?!
That’s not a tank, that’s a SPG (Self-propelled artillery)
A tank’s main gun is a direct fire weapon. You look through the site at your target, and it’s “On the way”. Artillery is an indirect fire weapon. Your target is most often out of sight and you would try a hit a grid square rather than a specific target
This is unbelievable how much money people have to burn. I can’t imagine myself £25k “kitchen”, I would rather buy 25 fridges and put them one by one like Lego blocks and that would cost me like £3-5k.
I would rather think he was scammed by them or they are not a company which can deliver a £25k product, their customer service deals only with £100-£2500 issues

£25k spent and the guy has a problem with mould in his house 🙂
All kitchens like this are a proper rip off. Literally just chip board with a veneer then they add a 10x or 20x to the price
Probably the biggest scam going right now.
I hate this new common Business model style. (I know it’s not new) Business charge you full price then contract everything out to other companies and self employed.
Wickes give you fancy glossy catalogue.
Wickes- That’ll be 25k please.
Wickes then contact basic kitchen wholesaler and order the 10k pieces to be delivered to your house, then they contact Bill and his mates and pay them 3k to fit a kitchen. Noone actually works for Wickes.
No accountability, nothing to do with them if the kitchen is bashed to fuck and Bills mates have no experience, just looking for cash. Nothing put together right or in a straight line, plumbing, gas fitting… Good luck!
Before anyone shits on me my Brother got a 20k kitchen from Wren and this was the situation. The kitchen fitters were luckily okay and confirmed the generic company that delivered the Kitchen sell the units/appliances for half the price Wren charge you.
My mum went B&Q for a kitchen. Much cheaper and had her own Fitter. But the delivery of the units and appliance from generic Kitchen wholesale company went wrong 3 times. So B&Q charge you commission for nothing.
But it’s a ~~troop carrier~~ self propelled gun, not a tank.

Though on a serious non pentagon wars moment, 25k for a kitchen is chunky, doing a poor job with that is just, shameful. The list of issues he mentioned are just basic things, if I was him I would be more concerned, if they cant even do basics like having shelving and drawers set right, or stopping mould growing under a sink…. think about the hidden stuff like eletrical wiring, piping, under the flooring etc.
Between him and the Bermondsey guy they could start an army to demand better kitchen installations and council planning.
Why on earth would you use these businesses for installation? Poorer service and paying thousands more
> “…..and would like to apologise for any inconvenience that has been caused….
I wish people would stop using this oh-so-glib drivel. It means *absolutely nothing* and should’ve been left in the 1970’s.
