Hey friends, I am from Poland and I have a question. How popular is ski jumping in your country? I ask because my main association with Slovenia is ski jumping. In Poland it is the most popular winter sport and is among the most popular sports. I always look at the competitions in Planica and I have the impression that ski jumping is also important for Slovenians. This season, the Polish jumpers are doing poorly, so I am supporting Anze Lanisek (Polish fans like him a lot, especially after the support for kubacki last season.) Anyway, it’s always the case that when our jumpers are doing poorly, we support the Slovenians xD Cheers!

  1. Yeah it’s fairly popular here, most people at least know the current standings and such. Obviously this changes to a mild euphoria if one or more of our jumpers starts to rack up wins. Which is the same for any sport here, TBH.

  2. Definitely the most popular winter sports, especially if one of the jumpers is doing good. Planica feels like a national holiday here, it’s always sold out and the atmosphere is crazy.
Of course you can’t compare it to major sports like football or basketball, but it’s still quite popular
