
After Russia launched its war against Ukraine, the economy of Kyrgyzstan sharply rose. Statistics from the Institute of International Finance found that between March 2022 and October 2023, German exports of cars and parts to Kyrgyzstan had risen by 5,500 percent, The Kyiv Independent reported.

Its really weird how this story gets pushed again and again, only focussing on Germany’s increase of exports, [while Polands was even larger and Czechia’s similar](https://twitter.com/RobinBrooksIIF/status/1688631557781692416), and both countries export a **lot** more per capita than Germany.
Umm, not hard to understand why. A large number of skilled Russian IT workers fled to Kyrgyzstan (among many other places) rather than die on the front, bringing their income and taste for luxury goods with them. All those Mercedes need parts.
This sanctions leaks as been known since spring 2022. What gives? These countries should have been sanctioned long ago.
