  1. This just in! Republican says pro-life and fuck them kids in the same sentence.

  2. >~~suffer the little children~~ Make children suffer. Also young poor women, make them have babies

    MAGA’s “new” new testament.

  3. from Wikipedia:

    >[Nebraska Governor]Pillen drew criticism in October 2023 when responding to reporting about dangerously high levels of nitrates at his farms. Reporter Yanqi Xu had written that 16 Pillen farms had nitrate levels of at least 50 parts per million, five times the level considered safe to drink.[26] Claiming not to have read the article in question, he said: “all you’ve got to do is look at the author. Author’s from Communist China—what more do you need to know?”

Yu writes for the Flatwater Free Press in Nebraska. This is just a racist dig on his part – which should tell you all you need to know about the content of this douchebag’s character.

  4. “Listen newborn, you are just going to have to pull yourself up with your boots straps, you have had nine months to get ready” -GOP

  5. So what’s the real reason behind rejecting this? Forgive me if it should be obvious.

I can’t imagine it’s the $300k, nor the silly argument about childhood obesity, nor even some ideological view in a vacuum about entitlement programs. It must be politically calculated.

Is it that they don’t want people in their states to associate this benefit with a Democratic administration? Are they pandering to those not eligible for the benefit, supporting the complaint those people have about not wanting their tax dollars to benefit others that they think don’t deserve it?

  6. “COVID-19 is over, and Nebraska taxpayers expect that pandemic-era government relief programs will end too,” Pillen said in his statement. Pillen announced on Dec. 19 that Nebraska would not participate in the program. He has drawn a firestorm of criticism for later defending that stance at a news conference by saying, “I don’t believe in welfare.”

Neighboring Iowa is also opting out of the program, with Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds announcing that decision last week and saying, “An EBT card does nothing to promote nutrition at a time when childhood obesity has become an epidemic.”

I can’t imagine ever supporting a repub. They are cartoonishly evil. Just villains.

I think we should take the $18 million we would have given these Nebraska and Iowa and give it to the cities that these folks hate so much. Give the money to Baltimore, Chicago, NY, and LA.

  7. “An EBT card does nothing to promote nutrition at a time when childhood obesity has become an epidemic”

Which is why social wellfare is so important. Enable poor families enough money to afford healthy food, and enough salary to afford spare time to prepare it. Same time offer a plentitude of free activities to kids. Both to keep them in shape, and away from criminal groups.

Imaging being so low that they blaim a rich problem on the poor. “I eat too much, so you should starve for me”.

  8. Honest question: What is the upside republicans think this will lead to?

Or are they just trying to drive poor people out of the state?

  9. The federal govt should reallocate those funds to other states that are willing to do their jobs for their constituents. I’m all about separating red and blue states – let the fuckers starve until they can elect competent, accountable representation.

    Fuck the GOP.

  10. Did republicans grow up thinking that the villains were the heroes in movies? Are they perhaps confused about which end is which on the whole good vs evil thing?

  11. If they’re not rich, they’re not republicans, and if they’re not republicans they can go to hell.

  12. Oddly, he’s probably a very confused man that claims to be a follower of Christ.

  13. Literally saying children should suffer in situations they can’t control because he hates welfare. This man is a monster.

Someone give the list of government subsidies him and his state takes. For a farming state that survives on government welfare, he’s certainly making a choice here

  14. It is annoying how many Republicans think they are some kind of hero for refusing Federal funding for things that will benefit their constituents. They do it with funding for food, for health care, for transportation improvements, then act as if they have done something good.

  15. I’ll bet he goes to church and calls himself a Christian

  16. “An EBT card does nothing to promote nutrition at a time when childhood obesity has become an epidemic.” “Fuck those kids, those fatties need to lose weight anyways.”

  17. That’s my governor. His hog farm has taken in over $300,000 in government subsidies and he got over $2 million in PPP loans which were forgiven.

But he doesn’t believe in welfare, y’all.

  18. If you feed kids with federal dollars, there won’t be as much to hand out to failing corporations.

  19. That’s who you voted to represent you, Nebraska Republicans. Good job 👏

  20. There are no words to describe a human being who refuses to help hungry children, even though it is within his power and scope of duty.
