The NYT is covering Belgorod on its front page. The photo features people carrying a victim . Astonishingly, that photo is of Ukrainian victims in Zaporizhzhia — not Belgorod.

  1. NYT never lets a little thing such as facts get in the way of a story.

  2. Pro kremlin propaganda. Its spreading fast. Swedish public service had a headline today about “Ukraines revenge attack on Belgorod”, directly from the russian defense department.

  3. wtf is wrong with NYT? Russia must be paying some high up people for this

  4. That’s some bad journalism, I’d expect this from Fox “News”.

  5. This is typical of media and journalism of today. Just a stock photo to create sensation in the hope people will click on the article. I used to consider journalism a noble profession.

  6. I noticed other news outlets quoting the Russians saying there were civilian casualties from Ukrainian attacks on Belgrod. No mention of the many well documented Russian atrocities.

  7. I hate the NYT… but I don’t get it? It says Zaporizhzhia! Read what it says under the photo!

  8. Why doesn’t everyone write to the NYT to report this? That’s how they can be notified about this, talking on reddit doesn’t get the info to them. Of course, then you have to assume that someone cares enough to read the reports and do something about it … and maybe that is hoping for too much. And even if they issue an “apology” later, what good will that do.

    *But* —

To contact the NYT to “report a factual error” – that is the term they use – email **corrections@nytimes.com**

“To report a factual error in a news article, email corrections@nytimes.com. All letters asserting factual errors will be forwarded to the appropriate editors.”

  9. What is wrong with you guys? Photo is clearly labeled ‘Victim of Russian missle . . .’ Just like X to trash the press, x is not one of the good guys.

  10. I remember their coverage of the Georgia invasion in 2008… haven’t trusted them my entire adult life.

  11. Don’t EVER trust USA main stream media. They are sold out.

  12. Russians are thieves, the lot of them, case and point.

  13. The NYT has become a sick joke. What was once a paper of record has become an organ of of the corrupt plutocracy that is dismantling democracy world wide. Perhaps the only saving graces of the once great NYT are now obvious is its craven servility to big money and its abject incompetence with respect to accurate and truthful reporting. Read the Guardian. Cancel the NYT

  14. It says “stretcher-bearers with victim of Russian missile strike in Zaporizhzhia, in southern Ukraine, on Friday” under the picture.

Ffs learn to read and dont help Russia with this type of shit. Anyone who actually reads newspaper on daily bases understands that this is not what is happening here.

  15. At the bottom of the picture it clearly says Russian attack on Zaphorizhzhia, Eastern Ukraine

Not to defend NYT but c’mon

  16. Canadian flag & Ukrainian trident on their arms … hmmm nice pic.

  17. Ah, New York Times , they arent well known for their integrity.

  18. There are valid criticisms of the site, but this is one of them. The section is about the war. Under the picture, the description shows the truth, it is not mislabeled.

  19. For the love of jeebus, we can no longer win the twitter war. STOP giving it page views. Use Nitter instead if it needs to be a twitter link.

You are feeding the hand that bites.

  20. Astonishingly? No the paper is carrying multiple stories on Ukraine on its front page

And it clearly identifies what the picture is.

I don’t see the issue here.

  21. NYT is a clown show. This is a common L!

They were also claiming a week before that Putler is ‘quietly’ signaling he is ready for peace. What a fucking load of bullshit.
