Honestly never liked being named favourites for the UCL every year. Just emphasised the failure every year until this year

I always thought we were being made favorites so as to create a greater sense of failure should we come up short.
Never sat well with me that we were favored over teams like Madrid and Bayern. Even during the last campaign.

Nah this was a fine take imo, I was always bamboozled that we were favorites 5-6 years in a row before we actually won it. Experience really matters in UCL as we’ve all learned. That’s why I believe there has only been 3 new UCL winners in the past 25-30 years (Dortmund, Chelsea, and now City).
I don’t understand the fascination with this garbage. Who cares what anyone thinks.
We are always the favourites just because of how talented our squad is, we were always just lacking that final piece but now we’ve got it

Haaland attracted attention of other team defenses even though he didn’t score any goals in knockouts. Eg. Rüdiger marking Haaland in last year semis
