One step at a time. First they need the planes. Then the goodies to arm the planes with.
Then make SU-34s an endangered species.
Next on Zelenskyjs wishlist: F-35 fighters
Ugh there isn’t going to be air to air combat anymore than there were Leopards and Challengers fighting T72’s/T90’s.
They’re essentially just airframes so Ukraine can maintain the little air ability it has, as well as some slightly more effective weapons integration. They’re not going to carry cruise missiles, or be shooting over the horizon missiles.
Lets hope they help but stay away from hyperbolic phrases, like everything else sent to them they will help massively but they aren’t going to win on their own and make Russia’s airforce disappear overnight
Baghdad Bob Orc Air Farce more like it
Their air force is doomed? They massively outnumber Ukraine’s airforce, including if Ukraine got all of the promised F-16’s right now…
Godspeed Ukrainian F-16s.
Despite being a 40-year old platform, modernized F-16’s have a well established ecosystem for parts, maintenance, training, and armaments. The result is that you have airworthy planes that can fly longer, survive a greater variety of mission types, and for far cheaper than almost any other alternative.
The other economic option would be the EU’s Gripen. I don’t know if any of those have been donated yet.
Let’s not oversell them lest people be disappointed when they underdeliver. They’ll still be very useful without us resorting to hyperbole.
This is… A huge exaggeration.
“Dooming” the Russian air force would, among other things, require **literally invading Russia**.
It’s fantastic that Ukraine is getting their Vipers soon, but at best, they’ll just help level the playing field. Western weapons can be superb, but they aren’t godmode.
now Apex Predator makes sense.
big if true
Unfortunately they still won’t be able to do anything about Tu-95s launching cruise missiles from inside of Russia
We will see!!! My sources tell me there has been no air support despite what the news says
i’m all for Ukraine getting jets, F-16 and Gripen but UAF use of drones should tell u something! i think UAF would be better using the money on accurate long/medium range missiles! (if they can get them). there is a massive ground crew team, maintenance, down time. a packaged medium range missile just light the fuse with same results and much less risk and money. the best use i can see for the UAF jets are pilots ignoring orders and fly to moscow and bomb it to ashes!
That’s some serious editorializing in the title!
Almost 2 years of Western weapon supplies for de-escalation and “bleeding Russia.”
It’s time to start weapon supplies for victory.
#LETS GO!
This guy claim that SU-57 will wipe the F16. Well russian TV claimed that they already downed 6 F16
Did I miss something or SU-57 stealth is truly beyond everything aka „it doesnt even exist„
I am having hard time to believe that the oligarchs that were planted by Putin aren’t taking the projects funds for themself.
Navalny‘s team highlighted lots of corruption cases, there was one case where a ship supposed to be on maintenance and it should cost around 10 mil usd. The maintenance never happen. The ship didn’t even need a maintenance. The maintenance company name has similar name with a legit ship maintenance company to obscure the robbery.
Russia is full of idiots or what?
I mean, their future is being robbed from them, the funds were plundered and the majority still support Putin and hates ukraine.
Well, I remain hesitant to be supportive of this idea. If the ukrainians have sloppy logistics and comms these f16 will get bombed on the airstrip.
However
If they pull this off we are going to have the best dogfight stories and footage in history.
I do hope putnanny does not test out the felons on these f16’s
These won’t have nearly the same effect that a surprise! patriot battery did. Three Russian jets down in a week in Kherson.
How will the F16 fare n dogfights against the Russian fighters?
Will be interesting to see if they manage to push back the russian air defences and establish a effective air superiorety above the frontlines
I really wish media organisations would stop with these F16 articles. I mean, sure they’re a brilliant bit of equipment, but how effective they will be will depend on what they are armed with and what intelligence support they’ll have.
Deadlock. UA cannot win this. Russia has an almost unlimited supply of meat to throw in. UA does not.
Doomed is a strong term, but F-16s will seriously hinder their operational capacity to strike Ukraine
The F-16’s can take information from platforms such as the AWACS that Australia supplied last fall, and the MQ drones to target while not illuminating their own radar. That should cut down on the glide bombing. The HARM will ferret out enemy SAMs. The Harpoon should take care of Black Sea targets.

I thought they already had them, I do hope they don’t have broad announcement
