  2. It’s just a game at this point. It’s almost god of the gaps level of logic.

    If the cases are low, it MUST be because of restrictions, and face coverings etc. But when cases are high despite all those things that you used to claim worked, you just blame something else or find another nation with worse results than you and claim your restrictions are the reason.
