I have a question about the lyrics I’m hoping someone can answer.
The reference to Killeshandra has always puzzled me as I’m not aware of it being a particularly active republican area (I believe most of county Cavan was fairly quiet overall)? Can anyone shed any light?
I ask because my family immigrated from there to Australia in the 1910’s after apparently getting too into the Republican cause (“too into” for Anglicans anyway), and I’m just curious.
