Did he read that 3 weeks ago and regurgitate it so we can think about it again on NYE?
David quinn has been wrong about essentially everything over the last 3 decades.
Why are newspapers still publishing his views?
Despite the messenger, the message is correct.
Ireland doesn’t do anywhere near it’s part for refugees, there’s our millions of people who need help and we as a rich nation only take a small fraction. We need to take more
The question is who is telling them to come to Ireland.
There were people being told so many Irish died of covid there were many jobs to be had. People were paying traffickers in the sincere belief they would get work.
Not every one who comes here is good or bad but they are expensive to the tax payers and adding to the health service and housing burden.
Where do they get their information from and what is the difference in what they get here compared to Germany, Spain, Turkey.
There are many super rich Countries in Africa with billionaires.
If people are fleeing parts of Africa due to war or famine what happens when they go to neighbouring very rich and stable Countries?
I know there is a black market in yellow fever fake vaccine cards, without a valid card people were not allowed into some African countries.
The news is full of Islam are there no non Islamic people coming on the boats with no IDs?
Whatever your opinion on the number of asylum seekers in the country, can we all agree that it has been a money spinner for a lot of people?
The likes of MHR have set up a side business to accommodate them and judging by the accounts in the news lately, has been highly profitable.
Hotels were happy to take asylum seekers until the summer season came around, so they try to get them out so they can charge peak rates to tourists, leaving the AS to get moved to student accommodation or wherever will take them.
Hospitality get different rates, depending on what type of migrant, which can open up the incentive to get one group out in order to bring in a more profitable crop. It’s shit for families trying to settle in the area, kids who had places in schools etc.
I know we need to get emergency accomodation from somewhere but it’s perverse that (just like homeless people) are a big earner for some, usually very well off people.
This issue clearly isn’t going away. It has done no party any favours, just ploughing on and ignoring public concerns. An open debate is what’s needed I its not unreasonable to find out the facts of the situation and plan.
At this point I’ve heard every single country in Europe being described as a ‘soft touch’ when it comes to immigration. Very strange how all of these arguments just happen to be very tailor made for those who are listening.
“We’re a soft touch for asylum-seekers”, says every country in Europe.
Sure we all partied on the emmigration ships
You have to love Christians like this ****, so pro-life they’d rather watch people drown at sea just to avoid having to see a person with a different skin colour walking down the street.

Jesus would be so proud.
