Ukraine now hit Moscow and keep doing it.
The problem is that Ukraine is low on ammunition to retaliate. This is why Russia is back on the offensive. They are harassing enemy positions before attempting to make another push. Putin has been playing the attrition game and saw an opportunity to attack after the West has lowered its support. Expect much bloodshed in the following days.
Russia has gotten back on the offensive using plenty of excuses to attack Ukraine (Friday it was 158 missiles, today 6 and all on civilian infrastructure) and they have refurbishment from both NK and Iran.
Ukraine can hold but they need ammo for the long run endurance (US, solve your republicans bullshit asap)

I wonder at which point, geopolitically, strategically, philosophically would it be acceptable in all forms to retaliate in the same manner? I know that in this state it’s not ideal for multiple reasons to start attacking Moscow, but at which point does it become reasonable? If your country keeps getting demolished, surely there must be a point on the timeline.

This is a prime example of why Europe needs to wake up and rearm to the teeth. Russia will not stop at Ukraine. Europe can’t rely on the USA all the time, especially if the orange turd gets back in. That would be a disaster for Ukraine. Europe needs to get going on defense, now.
