Denmark could not have had a better queen, a kind and caring person. May her son follow her example. And good luck to Daisy and her retirement.
Watching the speech live, I am emotional about the news. But I know that the crown prince and princess Frederik and Mary will be an excellent and popular royal couple
Abdicating the throne is much better than trying to stay King or Queen until death.

For those interested, her new year’s speech was primarily about respect and kindness by looking back to the influx of Danish Jews to Sweden in October 1943 compared to the current Hamas-Israeli War of 2023 as well as the Ukraine War, climate change, and AI as the other representatives for 2023.
She was the coolest Queen. She will definitively enjoy her retirement.
And she did well!
