Both Desantis and Trump have shown that they operate on no shortage of vindictiveness.
However, their knee jerk reactions, impulsive attacks and revenge campaigns are justified by their own delusions, especially Trump. Trump’s made a political career out of playing the victim whenever there is an effort to hold him accountable, investigate his actions or some criticism is inflicted upon him.
Hence, “the big lie”. One of the best examples of this.
You see, the party of “personal responsibility” can’t seem to take responsibility for anything unless they can be commended for it, and even then, they typically take too much credit. In other words, they can do no wrong, and if you endeavor to hold them accountable for any wrongdoing, you’re the enemy because you’re persecuting them unjustly. Legitimate judicial or investigative efforts turn into miscarriages of justice in the eyes of these insufferable narcissists and their supporters.
These Republicans stock up on countless unfounded grievances, and then go on to justify their own hate, their own bigotry, their suppressive legislative efforts and discriminatory attitudes, even violent rhetoric, extreme and oppressive methods to fight back at some imaginary enemy, persecutory and partisan inquisition, or deep state scheme.
