Reality: it will be a washed up politician on an inflated salary with no connection or understanding of the struggles of Limerick people
Limerick made such huge improvements in the last 10 or so years but walking around the city centre feels like you’ve been thrown back to 2005
Uno duce, una voce?
Nobody wants mayors in Ireland because the Lord Mayor of Dublin was once generally the second or third most powerful politician in Ireland.
Given how much more important Dublin has become to the economy, Dublin realising its own political power would potentially destroy the political structure of Ireland.
