  1. Someone tell them that you can make an unlimited amount of diamonds in a lab.

  2. Diamonds are forever.. Yours. Keep em to yourself mate.

  3. they are still going to sell them lol. think alot of them will end up in India’s diamond markets at a discount.

  4. in other news, azerbeijan, turkey, dubai, india and (insert your country of choice here) will see an significant increase in export diamonds.

  5. they will be sold through another country and become more expensive

  6. From the article:

“Experts estimate that Russia earns between 3.7 and 4.6 million euros annually from the diamond trade.”

On a national scale it’s literally nothing..

  7. And what about not working other sanctions? Only by hydrocarbons trade during 2 years Russia get 600 billion dollars, 200 billion from EU countries.

  8. So EU will import them from Kazakhstan or Turkey or whatever proxy state ruSSia uses thesedays…

  9. Imports of diamonds from Kyrgyzstan rising by 800% in 2024.

  10. Slightly more expensive diamonds “from” India: still okay.

  11. Lol they will probably be sent to India and be cut and repackaged and sold back in the EU.

  12. There are still dumbasses paying premiums for shiny rocks?

  13. Why import these at all, you can literally make them from compressing carbon pollution in the air. Given enough time, we could pave the streets with them.

  14. Western sanctions overall proved to be remarkably and somewhat shockingly infective, it’s actually a major thing that is not talked about a lot. Besides economic measures west doesn’t have much power to project.

  15. Can natural diamonds just stop being a thing? No need to mine when we can make them for relatively cheap and its artificially valued anyways
