I thought part of the reason RTE justified his ridiculous wage was that he’d be ‘snapped up’ otherwise. This is proof that assumption was false and they overrpaid this person for years.

Paid way too much blatantly but not sure if it’s entirely justified to say well they wouldn’t earn that much in the UK therefore don’t pay them a certain salary here. Like you could have a very talented person but due to certain cultural reasons might not exactly translate in the UK market. It’s a decent yardstick though when setting salaries for such professions though

Maybe I’m wrong but it feels like all the anger directed in this thread at Tubs is a bit misplaced? Seems like the entire tactic of RTE was to try and muddy the waters enough to where all the anger wasn’t directed just at them and now we’re gonna hate the people who work there who are literally just taking money given to them. What are they supposed to do? Not take it? Seems odd that everybody is basically reacting exactly like RTE were hoping.
Hopefully rte salaries will be brought into line, taxpayers money to fill the pockets of so called talent!
