Why did Deutsche Welle in German cease broadcasting on TV, instead continuing to broadcast on the Internet?

1. Deutsche Welle is Germany’s foreign broadcasting service, it is intended to be watched primarily by non-Germans.

   I guess it is just easier to reach people abroad over the internet nowadays than through classical TV.

2. Keep in mind that normal broadcasting to TV is probably quite expensive.
