President Vladimir Putin said Monday that Moscow will intensify strikes on military targets in Ukraine after an unprecedented attack over the weekend on the Russian city of Belgorod.
The attack killed 24 people and left over 100 wounded in Belgorod on Saturday. It came after Moscow launched a large-scale attack on Ukrainian cities.
That means sacrificing more and more young Russian men for his geopolitical vision.
Because up until now they haven’t been trying. They should name a city after him – vladilaughingstok

I just realised how completely surreal this all has become. Maybe not the right phrase, obviously know it’s been screwed up for decades, but something about just this specific episode struck home the utter ridiculousness of it all.
Just the idea of saving up munitions for months to attack Ukraine, taking casualties in return, and then trying to win the population over by promising an even bigger war effort (read: more of Russia’s own people sent to slaughter), somehow just leaves you speechless from utter incomprehension of what on earth goes on inside the guy’s head.
Since usually the opposite of what Russia says is true, can we conclude this means they are running out of resources to wage an intense war?

We can ridicule the russians as much as we want, but fact of the matter is that they are still inflicting a lot of harm onto the Ukranian forces and civlian population . It makes me sick to the stomach that the western allies are still not providing everything that is necessary to finally give the Ukrainian forces the means to drive out the russians back to the shithole they came from and end the meaningless slaughter and devastation.

The tanks they’re using now can barely be called tanks, more like static gun emplacements. They’re losing over 1000 people per day and the only reason they aren’t losing more is that they lack the capacity to bring them to the front any faster.
So where are they going to “intensify?”
Who is surprised? After Republicans in the US showed weakness by making aid for Ukraine uncertain… Putin escalates when he perceives weakness.
What the hell can they intensify, they’ve been trying for 2 years with everything they have.
