  1. >Donald Trump is facing trial on January 29 for allegedly duping people into investing in a loss-making video phone.

    >The lawsuit, filed in Manhattan, New York, in 2018, alleges Trump received millions of dollars in secret payments “to promote and endorse” ACN, a marketing company promoting a new type of video phone.

    …..

    >The lawsuit alleges that Trump promoted the product on the TV show Celebrity Apprentice without disclosing that ACN was paying him.

    ….

    >”Trump also told investors that he had ‘experienced the opportunity’ and ‘done a lot of research,’ and that his endorsement was ‘not for any money.’ Not a word of this was true,” the lawsuit states. Newsweek sought email comment on Saturday from Donald Trump’s attorney, John Lauro, and from Roberta Kaplan, the attorney representing the plaintiffs.

    article continues…

  2. Throw this on the ever-growing pile of criminal acts by Trump.

  3. Kinda funny because they use video phones in prison now

  4. Just another smoking gun that does nothing right now while he gets to walk around free, spouting misinformation, and making more money

  5. The words “could” and “might” have been doing so much heavy lifting for the last 8 years that it’s really depressing. You never get to the definitive “has.”

  6. Woah woah woah

You’re telling me Donald Trump lied repeatedly for his own personal gain, even at the risk of harming others????

  7. Just let us know when he’s landed in it.

All this could should, soon and maybe are enough now,

    It’s just clickbait.

  8. Ugh Newsweek. Might as well consult Zoltar or Carnac for your fortune at this point

  9. You know you’re in trouble if there’s a Wikipedia page for your legal issues

  10. So this is how I was formally introduced to chump. Someone I knew got roped into this particular scheme years ago, and tried to solicit it to me. I told everyone planning to vote for him in 2016 the story. No one listened then.

  11. No, they couldn’t. Nothing seems to land him any kind of “big trouble” at all.

  12. He is being sued for a few different business practices from year prior. What kind of stuff do you think he did to our country that is going to come out later on, can he be sued by the whole American population?

  13. This be like.

World: “Trump gets caught for yet another grift on top of tens of other potential crimes both state and federal”

GOP “ nothing to see here”

  14. I get that people are fascinated by the theater of this whole thing it makes sense, as this is an entirely new situation in US politics. That said, I absolutely hate the flood of articles from Newsweek and their ilk about things that *might* happen or *could* bring trump down or the way Jack Smith *slammed* trump today with a legal filing that *may* do something in 3 months.

There are plenty of things that are *actually* happening that are of more interest, but they get pushed out of the way by Newsweek.

  15. Wow that takes me back! Had a roommate in 2010ish who was an ACN agent or whatever. We had a few of these useless videophones at the apartment that he had to buy to maintain his pyramidal quota/status or whatever. I don’t think the phones were ever used. Pretty sure he went to an ACN conference and Trump was a speaker!

  16. Some dumbass tried to get me to invest in this years ago. Actually two people. Knew it was bullshit then.

  17. Is there a website that keeps track of all the criminal and civil cases this creep is involved in ?

  18. Ah good. The first “Trump *could* be in trouble” post of the new year. Can something start actually *being* trouble please?

  19. Not sure how many times I’ve seen headlines about how Trump could be in big trouble, and he’s still causing even more trouble

  20. Another recycled “could be” “maybe” “possibly” headline that’s been used for damn near 10 years and **nothing** has happened to him. Stop.

  21. Heard this man poops his pants daily. Adderall addiction. Lotta smart people saying it.

  22. “Could”? Gotta do better than that, Newsweek.

I wonder what Newsweek’s headline is going to be when Trump declares martial law on his inauguration day.

  23. JFC I’m getting sick and tired of hearing what might land DT in lots of trouble. Wake me up when he’s sentenced to something please.

  24. many people have tried to rope me into this dumb pyramid scheme over the years. I guess they thought I was an idiot

  25. Nothings going to get him in trouble. Any fines he ever has to pay will be for a drop in the bucket compared to what he reaped

  26. By big trouble, they mean 30 more news articles about the same shit and no punishment.

  27. Donald Chumps mouth could land Donald Chump in big trouble.

  28. Everything he’s done should land him in trouble but it doesn’t. I would be astounded if some video phone scam he pulled is the thing that actually tips the scales here.

  29. Oh my god another fucking article about how things ‘could’ happen to trump. Garbage

  30. Could, would, might, should, may….blah blah blah….

  31. Newsweek: Daily “Donald Trump is in *real* trouble *this* time” articles since 2016.

  32. Oh look everyone, it is another “COULD” article.

  33. It won’t. The dude will never face any consequences for anything he has done.

  34. Ehh, if I had a penny for every time I see this statement, I would be a millionaire. Tell me when he is in jail.
