  1. that thing was prob decent at directing counter battery fire

good for himars to erase it promptly

  2. “Hey there is something wrong with my screen. This dot is just moving really fast towards the middle.”

  3. Now they have to manually figure out where that rocket came from.

  4. God fucking damn how can they survive the tungsten ball rain, might be artillery as well by the way, the splash damage circle looks too small to be HIMARS

  5. Tinfoil hat theory:

The Russians announced recently that they will soon field the new 2s35 Koalitsiya SPG 152mm. It would rival PzH and Krab. Hence they sent the new counterbattery radar to aid the Koalitsiya in the counterbattery role just like PzHs were delivered with a cobra radar. It will aid those howitzers to find enemy rivals and knock them out. I have not seen the Kobra being destroyed and unless it broke or was destroyed “off screen” it probably still seeks out Russian gun positions and relays them to the PzH fleet.

The Yastreb can not however do the same with Koalitsiyas after that hit though.

  6. On sputnik 11 hours ago (I can’t link it)

Russian Armed Forces Receive New Yastreb-AV Artillery Reconnaissance System

    > Today, the effective performance of combat tasks by missile operators and artillerymen, together with the use of UAVs, which increases the effectiveness of artillery fire and survivability on the battlefield, is also ensured by the use of modern artillery reconnaissance equipment such as Zoopark-1M and Yastreb-AV,” the ministry said in a statement

  7. Very appropriate for one of these to be destroyed by the very thing it’s supposed to help destroy.

  8. Looks like at least some of the crew legged it. How many of these are (were?) there?

  9. The irony of counter-battery radar being taken out by battery fire. Found it!

  10. Just think how many indoor toilets Russia could have bought for the cost of that piece of equipment.

  11. Not the ideal way to detect artillery fire but effective none the less! /S

  12. What are all talking about, clearly this equipment works exactly as advertised, I mean look at how quickly it found that incoming round…

  13. Soundtrack is Rammstein – Sonne, but the Russian version I guess?

  14. Would this be the most modern equipment to be deployed and destroyed?

Was this the first mission? Imagine getting a brand new fancy radar to detect artillery and on the first day it’s destroyed. That must be a record?

  15. Damn, imagine if we gave AFU the weapons they need.

    Videos will be non stop.

  16. “Can I borrow the counter battery radar?”
“I guess, but be really careful it’s brand new and expensive”

  17. When the enemy is so technologically behind that everything is a HIMARS strike

  18. Oh wow that looked expensive. Hopefully the Russian people don’t see what Putin is doing with their retirement plans lol

  19. “**BREAKING NEWS:** *Russia debutes its latest, most advanced equipment in Ukra…… aaaand it’s gone!*”

  20. Would have been better if they had used HIMARS as it would have neutralized the crew as well.
While this is an expensive piece of kit, the time it takes to train a new and effective crew is longer than it takes to replace the equipment. Its why almost all NATO equipment revolves around survival of the crew, as you can quickly replace the vehicle but not so quickly replace a trained/seasoned crew.

  21. It’s definitely a blow. Russian counterbattery radars have been heavily cut down during the war. Russian telegram groups complain about the lack of counter battery fire constantly and its one area where ukraine has a definite and growing advantage
