Countries switch to a war economy whenever needed and spend 20% of their GDP on war after like a year.

I don’t want to be a downer but I don’t think we can stop the ice melting and what it will do in the short term. ( within 100 years). So far the massive melt from Greenland and Antarctica has caused the entire AMOC to slow down and it might even shut off by 2025! If we started today building the 100,000 cooling plants needed it would be decades before they are all deployed to even BEGIN cooling and refreezing the arctic. But we aren’t even TALKING abt building these, much less deploying them. It’s not on the agenda. We are now focused on stopping Putin … or other non-emergency emergencies. The extra heat being added each second to the oceans is called “ unstoppable” by climate scientists I forget the latest number by they measure it by Hiroshima equivalents of energy, bc we can pic the H bomb. It’s what … 12 15? H equivalents per second? So. The ice will melt. All of it, bc we are just too late. The plankton will dissolve and die in the acidic waters, bc we are just too late in even recognizing that it is a problem. Feely et al discovered that 53% of the pteropods off Puget sound were “ severely dissolved” and that research was … maybe ten years ago? The bottom of the food chain will go away, bc we weren’t even looking or spending money on research to learn abt our only planet. No…the mass of the money went to corporations, making rich ppl richer. And to the pentagon. Speaking of the pentagon, there was a leaked report ( 2019 iirc), that civilization will collapse within abt 20 years bc of “ mass starvation, and “mass climate migration”. ( they were actually speaking of the US military but when the military collapses, society has collapsed. Our agriculture is already being affected. Look up the dry snowless farms in central Canada rn. Canada…where 20% of all their trees burned up in one summer…Most of the equatorial parts of the planet will be come too hot for human survival ( look up the increasing wet bulb temps lately ) so we won’t get this done before billions of ppl die. We will prolly have abt half die within 25 years. Look up James Hansens latest paper. Sorry I’m too lazy to do it. I do not want to be impolite, but from the perspective of the Dunning-Kruger Effect, you are currently at “Mont stupid”. Once you learn more about CCUS, remaining carbon budget and the complex short-term and long-term effects of aerosols on the climate, you will be in the valley of despair and hopefully on the slope of enlightenment
