What’s it going to take for people to realise how much contempt the conservative party feels for them?
Unsurprising, in the last few years despite all the scandal and being shit they’ve remained ahead of Labour.
Labour can win again they just need a campaign and leader that appeals to people. Corbyn was useless and failed Old Labour, Starmer isn’t doing much better.
Labour’s amazing strategy of waiting for Boris to mess up instead of creating an actual effective political party is working wonders. Like a toxic person who has to put others down to make themselves look and feel good.
Xmas parties are out of the news and short memory syndrome sets in.
It’ll equalise when the Government declares that only working age people will be taxed more to pay for the pandemic.
The headline seems to be downplaying the fact that this is another poll showing that Labour are 5 points ahead of the Tories.
Since early December, every poll has shown Labour leading by 3 to 9 points. That’s relatively consistent and has been shown across all of the different pollsters. Another poll showing them leading by 5 is consistent with the other polls rather than being a “narrowing lead”!
The Conservative govt is under the most fire and scrutiny a govt has been in, for as long as I can remember. The PM is literally lying and squirming is way out of scandal after scandal nearly every week. The Conservatives have been in power for 12 years almost, and have just lost a safe seat in a by-election. Yet Labour is only 5 points ahead? That wouldn’t even guarantee them a majority in an election. This looks to me that Labour really has no avenue to improve as everything is currently in their favour, whilst the Conservatives only need a leadership/govt change (or for Johnson to radically change path) to restore their natural lead. I don’t really know what Labour can do to be electable. They need to look far more towards the centre-right as Blair did, as that’s where the larger segments of the electorate seem to be
In the end you just tire of the man. Amusing to begin with, the incompetence shines through the flowery speech and you realise how vacuous he really is.
I reckon that’s off the back of the statue toppling verdict. There are plenty of people out there who want the government to do more to deter and punish the right people for disrespecting this green and pleasant land.
