  1. Well shit.
“This summer was the hottest of my life.
Don’t worry, it will be the coldest of the rest of your life.”

  2. I’ll bet in 2025 they’ll confirm that 2024 was the hottest.

  3. It’ll also be the coldest year on record for the rest of our lives.

  4. This might be on pace for the coldest summer ever in Australia. Never had so much rain here over December and it’s a relatively cool start to January.

  5. Yea, I was all Screwed up with that 0.07% increase in temperature in which there is a 2% to 5% error rate they said…..all the climate wacos will be screaming at the sun and wearing vagina hats…..and blaming Trump

  6. They literally said there was a 0.07 degree increase….and their error rate is up to 5%…..complete joke

  7. They say the ocean’s rising, like I give a shit. They say the whole world’s ending, honey it already did.

  8. Not according to Terry on Colorado Springs Nextdoor. He says the earth will cool down soon like how it does when the camp fire goes out.

  9. Ah yes. By averaging temperatures between all the measuring stations and assuming that stations which measure the surface temperature of less than 0.001% of the earths surface are an accurate representation of average surface temperature. They then compare these results to prior year results from stations that covered even less surface area than that and were also in different locations than the current ones, so they have to not only average the prior years results which cover less surface area thru also have to force the data in an effort to make them roughly accurate matches for the new measuring stations, as if this methodology wasn’t already wholly inadequate.

  10. Anyone else secretly worried that at this rate we only have like one generation until everyone is cooked alive lol

  11. In England we’re not complaining. It is always cold and raining so some nice warming wouldn’t go a miss…

  12. So… if every year is hotter than the last, then retroactively speaking every past year is getting colder. Check mate climatologists.

  13. I don’t deny global warming is a thing but whenever I get anxiety from articles like this I have to remind myself that we’ve only been recording accurate temperature readings for like 150 years which isn’t a big percentage of human history let alone world history. I feel like that isn’t enough data to prove anything. At least regarding temperature trends. Again I don’t deny global warming is real but can someone explain why such a small sample size of temperature records can point to us all being doomed?

  14. Interesting, Florida had its mildest summer in a decade

  15. Sorry everyone, I’ll turn myself down this year 😎

  16. “The global mean temperature so far this year is 1.46 degrees above pre-industrial times, with leaders at the annual global climate conference COP28 in Dubai in the midst of negotiations on how to keep the world below the agreed 1.5 degrees of warming.”

Lol .. are there still anyone gullible enough to think that we can keep it under 1.5C? I bet we will blow through 1.5 next year.

  17. As a geologist when have tracked temps accurately for 200 years the earth is over 4 billion years old… be rational about the data you are making forecasts off Jurassic era earth was very warm and high CO2 levels, oceans have had transgressive and regressive phases been happening for eons tectonic plates are constantly moving. Central Us/Canda was under water as the Bearspaw Ocean prior to the Laramide Orogeny

  18. Never more have I ever felt like I was stuck in an oven than in the summer of last year.

  19. Hottest where exactly? as I’ve had plenty of hotter summers here over the years.

  20. And right-wingers around the globe lick the boots of big oil and deny climate change is real

  21. 2024: Hottest? Wettest? Driest? Least Oxygenny? Place your bets now, the house is on fire!
